My Mama Fishy Died This Morning...

I had her for 18 months. She birthed 6 batches of fry... shes my only sword to give birth.... Im gonna miss her

Did you keep any of her fry? 
She looks like a sunset platy I had.... One of my first fish, only female platy I had that never got pregnant, even when she was the only female in with a male of the same species.

It's still amazes me how much we get attached to our fish. I'm just as bad I have to say!

I know, it really sucks . It seems the more experienced you become in fish keeping the sadder it is when you finally lose a fish, versus inexperienced people who "constantly" lose fish..

Sorry to hear that, I'm pretty new to the tropical fishkeeping game (around 4 months in) and I can assure you, every fish death has been felt... Surprising how attached you become to the little buggers

I do have some of her babies still. 2 are about a year old, 2 about 9 months, 2 are about 6 months, and 4 are about 3 months old... so I have plenty to remind me of her. I went into the lfs where I got her, and they had more red wag swords, and i got teary just looking at them... But I rescued a pregnant platy... Shes doing well
