HI i jsut used a simple way of getting you to this question by the theory of a fellow forum memeber....What i really want to know is...My tank is canstantly smelling up my room...any suggestions

check for rotting fish or fishy foods and clean it up

bad smells are a sign of a poorly maintained tank, and more often then not overfeeding is involved as well.

use a filter.
clean the filter
cycle the water
drink the water
try differant food.
eat the betta

What kind of betta was it that your sister ate? Was it fried and came with chips? Or did she broil it? Betta sushi? Maybe your sister needs to be fed more often.

Move the tank to your sister's room

Could be the algae. Or, if the tank looks clean, check the filter. If there's any buildup of algae or grunge in there this could be the cause of the smell.
