Oh my gosh bettamom I was thinking the exact same thing about the opening bags! Because I once heard a horror story of some guy in a hurry opening bags and cut a fin off, so that is why I think so too!

Hi again I also have another question. He is swimming around but at times he just lays at the bottom and that concerns me. I have to look very close to make sure he is breathing...
Should I be adding any medication?

Nope.
Just keep an eye on him, and if he starts breathing heavy or anything then be concerned. But for now, he's just simply resting

Awww, what a cutie! And BM, I think you've started a movement here... you totally rock. Everyone go to their local Walmart and look out for fish with their tails cut off!!

Oh, and Tailless-Joe is doing great! (He's bettabelieveit's and my tailless dude from Walmart) His regrowth is looking really good. So don't worry, his fins should grow back great. All we used is salt and water.

Like, BM has told me. If it comes to the point where salt and heat don't work, Melafix isn't going to fix it either.
