I got to admit, they do you kinda red. Mine are very brown with gold stripes. Although I suppose if you were using a flash when taking the pics it could make them look red.

Still very nice fish :good: how many do you have? I've found the larger the group, the more I see them out and about during the day.

they are normally brown and red but are abit stressed as i was replacing the sand, it had got too mixed up with laterite underneath so i sifted it to remove the laterite, long job :shout: and the glass needed a good clean, i shall spend tonight replacing the plants and wood but it all needed a good revamp.
My discus didn't like it either you can see their stress bars, hopefully they will be happier tonight.

small plastic bottle with algae wafers in it, screw the lid on and cut a hole just large enough for the Khuli's, leave it overnight...job done

WOW Thanks for bringing that to my attention it will be cool if shes pregnant, not had baby kuhlii's before, i dont normally see her so i wouldn't have noticed if i didn't post the pics. Any advice now on baby loaches and how to stop them getting eaten by other fish will be handy, should i remove her (if i can catch her) or leave her be

Well if I remember correctly, khulis are egg layers. Laying small green eggs. As far as I know, they tend to lay on plants (but I could be wrong) as for exact details I'm sure someone here can help :)

Kuhlis will link up together near the surface of the tank an the feamle will spawn her egss which will adhere to plants (watersprite seems to be a favourite). The water level in the tank should be lowered slightly and the water should be soft.
