hey everyone. i'm really new to all this, so i apologise in advance for all the stupid questions and rambling.

anyways, we accidently went to a really dodgy lfs when i first had my tank set up (xmas present from my bro). so he sold me an angelfish, a neon tetra, a scissorail rasbora, a colombian tetra, a black skirt tetra, 2 male guppies and a female (i think) kribensis. well they were all a happy family at first but my krib's gotten way psycho - she hasn't actually eaten anyone yet but my poor neon's copping more than his fair share of incessant chasing & i have a feeling i'm going to wake up one morning (probably very soon) with him missing. :( none of the lfs's will take her from me & i am NOT going to "euthanase" her before anyone even suggests that. so i'm wondering if u guys think she'll get much more aggressive as she grows (probably about 2cm right now), and if yes - would it be ok to put her into a smaller tank by herself (in an approx. 60 litre tank right now, i think) or with (what kind??) of other fish? what would be the minimum tank size & what setup would be best - eg. should i get a filter etc or just do frequent water changes or what?

thanx heaps peoples!!

hi GG, get your krib a mate, the females are usually quite aggresive to them and it'll take her attention from the other fish in the tank. make sure he's quite a bit bigger than her so he can stand up to her a bit too!! :flex:

i don't think i could fit any more fish into my tank, esp. considering the size they get upto (apparently 8cm!!) + the dodgy guy selling me an angelfish :S my own stupid fault too - i didn't even think to research in the first place grrrr.

60 liters I believe thats around 15 US gal. First I want to say your tank is over stocked for that size. The Angel as you stated gets rather big. He will eventually kill your other fish most likely as he grows. Also I believe angels are known for fin nipping so your guppies may be in trouble first if they have a long flowing tail.

I would suggest returning the angel.

As for your krib if you can return her also I believe a 20 gal US is the recommended minium for a pair of kribs and they are very territorial if they start breeding. here is an article on kribs for you to reference and see what they need http://hjem.get2net.dk/Best_of_the_Web/intropage.htm

I recommend returning the angel and krib and finding a new LFS to use..
