I recently went and bought some Kribensis off another member on here and they have asked how they are doing so here are some pictures to show you all!
I have Red Niger, Nigerian Red, and Ocellated. Before anyone says anything, no the Male Red Niger's stomach isn't sunken in it's how he's positioned in the photo's. Trust me he eats most of the food.
The male Red Niger has dug a lovely pit under one of the plastic plants, cheeky little blighter.

What do you think? The Red Niger's are cleaning the pots they have in there and keep switching between the 2. They are also both shimmying at each other and although not all these photo's show it they have brightened up quite a bit. Breeding behaviour?

That "shimmering" as you describe it is very descriptive and a good way to identify their courting rituals...... there is definitely some interest in breeding...... (BTW..... some very good photographs here)

I was wondering about the breeding as I know Kribs don't usually dig egg pits these seem to love digging pits in the sand and taking it back to the pots and spitting it out... Thank you, it took me a while to get pictures like this as they don't stay still.

I can only relate the behaviour of some fish to those I have experience with..... most of those you are asking me about (pm's) are not even available in South Africa, So sorry if I cannot help you.....

That's OK Ludwig. I wasn't sure if you would know about them or not... I'll ask around in the Plec section then.
