My Kitten Muffins

Just to let you know that I have two persians who will be 2 in July. They are brother and sister and weight and size wise they are worlds apart.

The little boy is around 12lbs and still growing (he is a big lad!) but the little girl is only tiny at 5.3lbs.

Don't forget when they say an average size of a cat they must of had extremes to get there. You may just have a small cat. The vets told me that as long as Myska's body was in proportion then other than keeping an eye on her weight to make sure it didn't drop too low they would not worry too much about her size.

If you keep Muffins on kitten food for longer that will help bulk her out.

The ringworm should be easy to treat with shampoo. Try and stay on the shampoo though as tablets for ringworm can have some very bad side effects especially on a kitty so young.

I have nothing else to say other than where do you live so I can come and steal her as she is so cute

Thanks :) I live in Northern Virginia, in the USA. But please dont steal her Id be sad.

I dont mind her small size in fact I was looking for a runt because I liked how my sisters cat always stayed very small. I just want her to be healthy and so far size wise shes not skinny shes quite plump just small. So shes fine.

As for the ringworm shampoo I have been trying to see if there was anything I can get at a regular store to use on her, somebody told me to use tinactin lol I dunno if I can. The vet I was going to had the shampoo for $40 and if I cant find it anywhere else Ill buy it from the vet, but probably a new vet which is right down the street from me. I dont think Ill be going back to her old vet.

The shampoo I had for my two was called Malaseb and is an Antibacterial & Antifungal Shampoo. I think I paid about £15 per 250ml bottle (about $28). It is fairly expensive but it does work and is alot safer. In total I think I used 3.5 bottles between the two cats and it cleared up fine. I would be tempted to buy it from a vet though as it will be a proper treatment rather than in the pet store where it will be just a shampoo.

You are a little far for me to come pinch her so I will leave her with you :)

Just thought I would add that I had a quick look on ebay and there was some for sale in the UK so you might be able to get some on there. Much much cheaper than the vets. Wish I had thought of it before
