Well, Muffin's got a good owner now, who'll spoil her rotten I'm sure. She's adorable, I'd just watch for nose and eye issues with her and keep allergens in the house to a minimum. I was considering Persions for a while and did some research on the breed when I was going to get a cat about 6 years back. I wanted a long-hair cat, ended up going with a Turkish angora, and was lucky enough to rescue one from the Humane Society, lucky me.
Muffin's very pretty and I love the creme and grey combination, very, very cute. Very pretty eye color too. I love that amber shade.
She is a bit small, especially for such a stocky breed, but hopefully she'll grow with your TLC. But my Lily was very small too, just under 3lbs at 6 months, very thin. Now, she's a healthy 7.5lbs, but Turks are much more slender than Persians, though there was a time when Persians were used in the Turkish line, almost killing the Turkish Angora breed. Our cats have a similar history.
I'll stop the history lesson now. I told you I researched. I'm just a bit of a nerd.
EDIT: Also check her esophagus and digestive tract, they can be under-developed in smooshed-nosed breeds (real technical term there, smooshed
), leading to digestive problems. I don't want to alarm you, just make you aware. Even if your cat's fantastically healthy, with purebreeds, it's great to know what can go wrong with them. Remember, they are bred for certain characteristics and way back, that did involve line-breeding and inbreeding to some extent. Not saying your little Muffin is bad, she's not, they just come with their little package of things to watch out for.
I'll really stop being a nerd now.
