This is my persian kitten Muffins. I think shes just as much a fan of the saltwater fish hobby as we are.

Here she is watching the fish in our 72 gallon

And here shes sitting next to the quarantine tank. This one was her favorite. She has a cold which is why her poor eyes are runny.

 lovely i used to have a smokey black persian but sadly past away at the age of 14 thats quite old for a cat :)
he was soo cute when he was a little kitten and alwats affectionate :)

Thanks! Shes definately affectionate. Usually she is right by my side and sleeps with me almost every night. I really missed having a cat once I moved out of my parents house but now Im happy again lol.

That 72 gallon has been broken down we have a 150 now that we are about to start cycling once we buy all the live rock we need. She will really love that one I bet!

I was reading this with my 10 year old son and he cannot believe that Muffins is a real cat, he says it looks like a stuffed animal! We both agree that you have one beautiful kitty!

thanks everybody! Here are a couple new pictures of Muffins. Shes still as sweet as can be..in fact its hard typing this because shes sitting on the laptop and i can barely get past her to type. lol!

You know, I REALLY hate Persian cats, I never liked how they looked, but I have to say Muffins is REALLY cute :good: Cute name too :).

Is she an ultra? She looks very ultra with her poor eyes and no nose :-(

I'm sure she's very sweet.

She was the runt of the litter. Her nose is really teeny and she has had problems with it and having colds. Ive taken her to the vet quite a bit. I feel bad for her but shes a happy cat, never has seemed sad or abnormal since I brought her home. She loves to run around and play. I dont think she was bred to have any extreme features, I guess it just happens sometimes.

Ill say I am not a big fan of the breeder I got her from, as it seemed like she had just been caged up for most of her small life. When I brought her home she wouldnt go up or down stairs, or jump up on anything, even my bed which is very low to the ground. Shes gotten over all that now but still wont jump up on anything higher than a couch, which is probably a good thing since shes always into everything.

She is definately the love of my life though and I do whatever i can to make her happy. She has her own room  and is spoiled for sure. Shes still very small though about 3.6 pounds at 6 months of age. But she is a healthy eater so shes well, sturdy and strong.

Well, Muffin's got a good owner now, who'll spoil her rotten I'm sure. She's adorable, I'd just watch for nose and eye issues with her and keep allergens in the house to a minimum. I was considering Persions for a while and did some research on the breed when I was going to get a cat about 6 years back. I wanted a long-hair cat, ended up going with a Turkish angora, and was lucky enough to rescue one from the Humane Society, lucky me.

Muffin's very pretty and I love the creme and grey combination, very, very cute. Very pretty eye color too. I love that amber shade.

She is a bit small, especially for such a stocky breed, but hopefully she'll grow with your TLC. But my Lily was very small too, just under 3lbs at 6 months, very thin. Now, she's a healthy 7.5lbs, but Turks are much more slender than Persians, though there was a time when Persians were used in the Turkish line, almost killing the Turkish Angora breed. Our cats have a similar history.

I'll stop the history lesson now. I told you I researched. I'm just a bit of a nerd. :nerd:

EDIT: Also check her esophagus and digestive tract, they can be under-developed in smooshed-nosed breeds (real technical term there, smooshed  ), leading to digestive problems. I don't want to alarm you, just make you aware. Even if your cat's fantastically healthy, with purebreeds, it's great to know what can go wrong with them. Remember, they are bred for certain characteristics and way back, that did involve line-breeding and inbreeding to some extent. Not saying your little Muffin is bad, she's not, they just come with their little package of things to watch out for.

I'll really stop being a nerd now. :look:

Thanks for all the info! Yeah I did realize they have their issues, and the risks involved, especially in a runt kitten. But I loved her so much when I first saw her. Her sister was normal sized but just didnt seem to have the personality Muffins did. My sister bought a runt persian about 10 years ago and she has been a great cat, the most docile cat Ive ever met actually. Shes been perfect healthwise so I hoped for the same but Ive had some issues, but its ok. Ive done all I can so far with getting her tested for all sorts of things, shes feline leukemia and FIV negative and she had a parasitic stool sample test done which she came back fine for.

One thing is shes ended up with ringworm and I dont know whether it was from the breeder or the vet, since it didnt show up till after she was spayed at the vet. I skipped her last check up appointment there and Im thinking about taking her to a new vet which I know has a good rep. Her spot that she had where she lost hair has regrowth now so Im hoping she will be ok.

Since Ive had her she hasnt had one abnormal bowel movement so everything inside seems to be ok but ill keep an eye on that.

She definately has been high maintenence thus far but its worth all of it. Shes getting a bath today and her nails clipped so heres where I get back at her for all her troubles. Actually shes a pretty good bath taker. Shes squirmy and hates the water and shampoo part but she lets me dry her with the hairdryer without too much excessive drama.

Just to let you know that I have two persians who will be 2 in July. They are brother and sister and weight and size wise they are worlds apart.

The little boy is around 12lbs and still growing (he is a big lad!) but the little girl is only tiny at 5.3lbs.

Don't forget when they say an average size of a cat they must of had extremes to get there. You may just have a small cat. The vets told me that as long as Myska's body was in proportion then other than keeping an eye on her weight to make sure it didn't drop too low they would not worry too much about her size.

If you keep Muffins on kitten food for longer that will help bulk her out.

The ringworm should be easy to treat with shampoo. Try and stay on the shampoo though as tablets for ringworm can have some very bad side effects especially on a kitty so young.

I have nothing else to say other than where do you live so I can come and steal her as she is so cute
