Yeah the plants are all real, and the background is just a mirror film stuck on with that seaview stuff that makes it look better imo as theres no gap between the film and the glass thus making it one

Looking at your tank again i gotta say its up there with the best ive seen,
i been on youtube many times and its up there in the top 10,
did you remove the internal filter straight away?
where did you get your black film from for the background?
also whats that bushy plant mid foreground

Thank you festo makes the effort all the more worth while
i bought the tank off a freind of my girlfreinds and it come without the filter for some reson so i went and purchaced the aquaone one.
Which plant? the one thats under the wood streching over toward the left (bright green one)??
The background isnt black but a mirror film, although iv often thought about black film iv yet to make the chnage as i like how the mirror reflects the colours more in the tank
fish alive in durham on the other hand sell the black film, not sure on other places though sorry.

ahh m8 that is amazing. You need to get that on TOTM. would get my vote all day long. so so so so nice.
keep it up. You running any form of co2 in there btw or ferts.

Iv enterd it for tank of the month alex anf there's no Co2 just API leaf vone and some stick that goes under the gravel with little balls in that I imagine feed the roots, the shop recommended them anyway lol

Whoaaa... This tank is amazing!

I keep coming back to it and starting to rethink my entire setup. What does it for me is that peice of wood. It brings so much to the tank that i find myself looking at 'it' rather than the fish at first

Thought id udate my thread as its been a while, not much has changed really just some plants as i dont have enought light to keep the red colourd plants alive so i have been and purchased a few more replacement plants but all green even a few green ons that have really took off since the pictures were taken a few days back.

Also got a new little buddy in my bedroom

nice to see the update. It's always good to see a planted tank progress after the first planting when they generally look very good and healthy. You seem to be doing a great job with yours, all the plants look excellent.

wow how do you manage to keep your tanks so clean and free from algae?
I find my tanks get algae on the glass every few days!!!

Thanks for the comments people although i have had a little bit of a rescape yesterday so it has all changed a little, i will put some ictures up tonight. The majority of the plants are now in the righthand side corner with new twisted.. erm cannot remember there name (gras like ones) in the lefthand side thinking about changeing stocking also after looking at farmer george's tank with just neons and a discus fish
