Hi i have had my guppy about 5 weeks now, After a week i noticed i had three pregnant females. They are now about 4 weeks pregnant and Hve still not given birth. I have got a loot of artificial plants in the tank and a lot of places for them to hide. Does any one know why they are not giving birth or how i can speed the process up.
Ive added a couple of photos to the end. the guppy that is the biggest is the yellow/orange in the two photos please let me know what you think

The grey bodied female is no where near ready for giving birth yet , id say looking at her she isnt more than 2 weeks into a pregnancy , they yellow one is further on but not squared up yet so you could have abut another week or so for her to give birth , there isnt anything you can do but be patient and wait lol

Thanks for the advise. I have a breeding trap do you think i should put her in it soon or should i wait another week ? thanks alex

I would guess the yellow tailed female at anywhere from a week to a day away from a drop. If you have plenty of cover in the tank, the breeder is unnecessary. The generally accepted advice on traps is to keep a fish in them no more than 48 hours. If you have a small spare tank, move the female to it and just add some cover. You will get more fry than you want that way without a trap.

guppy has had 11 babies today and looks like more could come really exited.
