Here are my two babies! They're both 3 years old...9 days apart in age. NOT siblings lol Completely different parents. Stella is registered with the Canadian Kennel Club, Ivan isn't. I love them both to death! Stella has serious digestive issues and a gluten intolerance, but we've worked around it and my vet said she's healthier than most "healthy" pets she sees! Although, neither of them are really "Great" Danes...far from any breed standard. I like to say they're great DOGS, not GREAT Danes

Ivan is the fawn, Stella is the spotted one

what beautiful dogs you have. My sister worked at a dog kennel for a few months and apparantly the great danes are sooo sweet natured and soft.

Aaaw, they are great. I love the pic of them both in the snow. They look like they're having the best time. I nominate the snow pic for POTM. It's too cute not to.

Beautiful dogs. Great pics.

:good:

Hi Jaiden :)

Had you not received a nomination and had it seconded, I would surely have given you one. :yahoo:

Many years ago, when my kids were small, I went to the dog pound to find a pet for all of us and come away with Marmaduke, a huge Great Dane who looked a lot like Ivan. I fell in love with him and it wasn't until I was half way home that I noticed that someone had whacked him on the head hard enough to give him a big scar right in the middle of his forehead.

He was wonderful with me and my children. He would let them climb on him and would never complain. He was loving and sweet natured, a real gentle giant.

Unfortunately, his previous owner had his ears cut and he could just lower his head and slip out of any collar I put on him. When he said "woof" people were afraid. When I had him tied in the back yard, the mailman got scared and refused to deliver my mail. Then the garbage men refused to go into the yard and pick up the trash, and the meter readers wouldn't come either. Eventually, I had to give him away.

I live in an apartment now and will probably never be able to have a big dog again, but if I had my choice of pets, it would be a Great Dane. He would look like Ivan, and he would never have his ears cut.

Yeah, I have been living in this house for over a year and none of the neighbours will talk to me lol People cross the street when we're out for walks because they're scared to get too close to them hehe The funny thing is, Ivan is terrified of flashlights and plastic bags! He's such a big oaf...I love 'em both to death!!

And that's one good thing about the UK. They don't crop or dock anything on dogs. In the US and Canada, the dogs chances of winning anything in a show are pretty slim if their ears aren't cropped...however, Ivan's not registered with the CKC and Stella just had her registration suspended the other day lol Not that I planned on doing anything with them, anyway! They're both fixed and very much couch potatoess

What stunning dogs! I'll give a POTM for hte 5th pic down :good:
