The lump itself didn't really feel that big - I think most of it was internal. The ligament op was the 2nd one - other leg was done 6 months prior to that. Fab Insurance Company and well worth it
My friend and I have been rather unlucky really. We both went to the same reputable breeder, checked eye and hip scores, met the Sire and the dam and all dogs from previous litters that had been kept for working. Sort of thought we did everything the right way. My friend got the brother of Sadie and then got a yellow lab from the same breeder (different *****) a little while afterwards. I think it is just bad luck as all other dogs have been fine.
Sadie's brother's first problem was his microchip that decided to migrate to his shoulder so that had to be removed. Then he was diagnosed with a joint problem. That was never really clarified as another Vet doubted the diagnosis and he has been fine since. Then there was the collar incident between her dog and mine. On top of all that, her yellow lab then ended up losing his tail through injury.
Fingers crossed - we have had a couple of years problem free and all dogs seem fit and well now
