Hello all,

Ive been keeping Cichlids for a fair while (mostly South American Cichlids, I love Severums), however I came across this fella and had a spare tank to house him in. Hes a Flowerhorn, but to be perfectly honest I know very little about the types of Flowerhorns there are around. Could someone identify this breed of Flowerhorn for me please?

That's a beauty! I don't know the strains of hybrid fish but wanted to ask you how he was doing and how he acts.

I had a fh once and he was one mean son of a gun.

Hes an extremely strong fella, I noticed when I had to move his tank upstairs when decorating and needed to net him, his thrashing almost broke the net, his mouth is also big enough to give me a bit of a nip aswell. Hes doing fine, very active, very greedy, he was 2.5" when bought about 7 months ago (it was summertime so 7 months is a slight guess), hes about 7" now from head to tail and hes got a fair bit of growth left in him, he has grown a lot faster than any other fish ive kept previously. He lives with a Syno & Blue Lobster. They have never bothered each other, but I keep an eye just in case. Sometimes it looks bad when you see a bit of shell on the sand at the bottom of the tank, then i realise its the shedding of the shell, Lobsters shed their shells on occasion when growing.
