My fish will probably be all dead tommorow

Yes...do your water change, and if they don't look healthier half an hour to an hour, change more.

It would be good to have some kind of surfac movement, as this provides oxygen for the fish to breathe. what kind of filter do you have? if it can't be adapted to provide more surface agitation, an airstone would be a good addition.

Hey...I've jsut thought, if you could add some live plants, they might speed up your cycle...:)

right, water change done :D still sintky though

also whats an airstone? and please say there not alotta money.. i am totaly skint now!!!!!

fish look happy that i did a change as there swimming frantically round the cage :)

i cant add plants though.... my tank is only 5 gallopn and will get swamped quickly also my mum n adad said i cant have a bigger tanks coz apparntly they "smell" too much.

I have no idea what my tank and pump is...its called Sicce Unyko Zero

This is their website http://www.sicce.com/ and you can get a pdf file off there.

All i got in thier are some kind of sponge filter thing and have not cleaned it since

I very much doubt yourtank will get swamped with plants unless you have very green fingers  or put too many in. get an anubais or a cryptocoryne - mine are only about 4"x3", and they'll make your fish healthier :)

:-( looks like all my fish are going to die, i cant afford to spend any mroe money on them atm and they have all got red gills and look really painfull and there isnt much i can do to help

I havent fed them today but all i can do is keep doing water changes for the next week or two

don't give up yet

a lot of people do run successful cycles with fish and as long as you pay scrupulous attention to water changes yours shouldn't be any different.

so do i just have to water cahnge every daye for like a month? (or untill cycle is complete..

but what about the red gills?

I dunno about that I'm afraid...I would presume it's from ammonia burns but they *should* be able to survive it if water is changed regularly.

If you keep a record of your readings every day, it will help you or anyone here work out how the cycle is going. :)

great to know that your here to help :D

your all great specially you Cutterydrawer (you should be an admin if you aint) Me or my fishies owuldnt of been able to do it without you guys :)

Tommorow, im gonna do another 25% water change and might feed my fishies a block of frozen bloodworms since i didnt feed em tonight and i wonna treat em :p

What clutterydrawer has said is a very good idea for you :D . Here is an example of the record I kept of my tank when cycling My Cycle with fish. Remember your record will read differently from mine, all tanks will be different, however it would be very helpful to give us figures with any problems that occur in the future. :D

I personally would not recommend feeding your fish with the bloodworms while they are showing the symptons that they are showing. :/ I know you feel it would be a nice treat, but now is not the best time. Concentrate on water changes, getting rid of the smell and doing a record of tests for the moment.

I have a 2.6 gallon tank for my fry and it has two plants in. It is not swamped and if they do grow quickly you can just trim them up. :fun:

Good Luck

heh ok, im going to start my diary tonight and i can post it at the end for every1 :look:

I cant buy plants as i am totaly out of cash

So my fishies will have to be strong :D and we shall get through this together,

Ill keep you posted and post again tmz

ByE!

Don't worry about the plants, it can wait till you can afford them.

Don't give up, we are all behind you and will help as much as possible.

Depending on the size of you tank and how much you want to spend (if any) But For both our tanks we use a pond pump! we would be lost without it, we fill a 75L bucket full of the water, put the bucket on the floor next to the tank, plug it in and pump all the water back in. It is fantastic. plus the water flow back into the tank is steady, which is perfect. :)

hiya, just got back from work..

Im gonna do a water cahnge in a min (around 25%) and then im gonna feed my fish coz i didnt feed them yesterday and they keep trying to nibble the plastic plants

I wonna give em frozen bloodworms..do i just plonk one into the tank? (thats what the man in the lfs said to do)

Anyways please Post back, and ill reply in around 15 mins after fish change :D

"do i just plonk one into the tank?"

one what? are they in cubes? if so, a whole cube will be too much. I usually scrape some off with the blade of a pair scissors then thaw it out in a plastic cup with a bit of tank water in it.

you must thaw it out or it will be too cold for them.
