well within the next two days I'll post a link to a small site Im making on my new fish tank. I have learned a lot of stuff from you guys and I thought I would share all of our hard work :p

you guys can prolly piece together what I have from all the posts but I'll run it down

20 gallon tank
Aqua 30-60 filter
soon to have a frog in it when I get it to college later today (sunday)

55 gallon tank
Magnum 350 pro
if I can make up my mind, most likely a Malawi tank with a couple puffers in it (prolly dwarf/figure eights) and a syndontis cleaner fish

The cool thing with the 55 tank is that I have always wanted a tank flush on one side of the wall and on the other side hanging out, my Pops and I are in the process of building my new room in the basement so I have made my own stand/cabinent that sticks out one side of the wall and of course incorporated a whole in the wall for the tank to go in. (pics soon) The room is also almost finished... aaaah I cant wait

over the past week, I assembled my pipes and valves and stuff for the Magnum, and set it up the way I wanted it when the stand is finished (have to stain it still).

I have my rocks ready to be put in the tank, and Im waiting on some fozilized rock I got on ebay. My step mother picked me up some pure Ammonia today for the cycling of the 55g.

I still have to get a testing kit, and finish my stand. Then Im going to begin the cycling of the tank.

I'll post updates as things happen... thanks for everyones help.... :fun:

OH and I got my tap water trested yesterday, PH was 7.2-7.4; Chlorine,Chloramine,Ammonia,Nitrate,Nitrite were all at 0; they said my hardness was "ideal" I dont remember the reading; And if I remember correctly the Alkalinity was good.. around 300 I think

sure, gotta make that cash.. but.. I think the UK is a little far to travel to build a fish tank stand :fun:

That stand isnt comming down anytime soon, thats for sure. It was made with 2x4's and 2x8's! I hope to make my own doors for it someday.

thanks

thanks, I should have new pictures after this weekend, I got my test kit in and the stain should be dry.

Now I can set the tank up in posistion and fill it with water. Then on to they cycling stage

thanks for the replies :p

I'm impressed...that's very cool!

Oh, and cute frog. :)

Fab project

i want to turn my outside garage into a fish house but dunno where to start i.e power points etc.

My bedroom is far too tiny to house my 3 tanks!!!!!

As i would like to extend my tropical tank to something far bigger so i can add variety and i want to set up a couple of breeding tanks too.

thanks: bigfish, reg2k2, and cichlidmaster

hehe.. Elmer J is a cutie :p

I understand where your comming from bigfish, I am new to the hobby and I have already found myself with two tanks (55gallon and a 20 gallon) and a 10 gallon tank with a cracked bottom I would like to fix for a quarintine tank. phew... IF my life ever settles down I would love to have the time to take care of a saltwater tank.. so many fish I want :hyper:

OH, and check the link out again, I added NEW pictures.
