i am not keen on plecs full stop - only the fact that they are massive pooop producers and mant that are sold are labelled incorrectly and sold as "common"

it looks a bit like a common but is only 3 inches

well they do grow, was it sold as common? does it have bristles at all?

yea it's a nice size now - if a lot of algae to eat and sinking algae wafers to eat etc etc - they soon grow - and poop for britain (or whichever country u are in)!!!!!!

i had the idea of having 1 when i first started ..........thinking they will eat all the algae and keep the tank clean - yes they do..........but when larger and then tank space is taken up by a thing that just appears to suck glass - eventually has to be re-homed!!!! - so really don't see the point unless u have room for it to mature or REALLY REALLY like plecs

it was sold as a loach!

Does have any bristles, isn't a bristlenose

u do realise this is a forum where we all love fish so noone is gonna say yes to that question.


not feeding the fish and keeping it in a too small tank will cause it to suffer.


youd be much better off with a group of ottos or something in a tank that size.
