My fish keep dieing

(Breeding box) Guppy have fry, and corydora are laying eggs

Water change,
All plants and ornament come out, (not cleaned) i use a gravel vac to clean. The 2mm gravel, the. Add the ornaments back and plants back.
I use a 45lt tub and fill it with water, add correct does of prime to the tub of water then use a small filter pump with air line tube attached to fill the tank back up, tube is by the heater so the water wars up and dosent affect the water temp, as it takes about 20 minutes to put the 45lt in the tank

The swordtails introduced the bacterial infection and now it's killing the guppies. I have seen it hundreds of times before. It is a classic bacterial infection and will wipe out the entire tank unless you can treat it.

It has nothing to do with water quality. The disease (a bacterial infection) was brought in by the new fish.

They have a bacterial infection and need anti-biotics, which will be hard to get in the UK.

You could try salt in conjunction with Myxazin or some other broad spectrum medication but you need a lot of salt (4 heaped tablespoons per 20 litres of water for 3-4 weeks) but it might not work.

Guppies and swordtails will be fine with this level of salt but tetras, barbs, danios, etc won't like it.

The fish in the picture will probably die in the next 24 hours so try salt and see what happens.

They don’t have feed shops like Tractor Supply there? They sell OCT antibiotics. I’ve also purchased them online from similar stores.

Not in the UK. The only way to get antibiotics is with a prescription from a doctor (humans) or vet (animals, assuming you can find one who treats fish). It is possible to import them (illegally) from overseas, not something I would recommend.

Also, even after all the treatment, the swordtails are itching them selves on tha gravel & ornaments, I have sent emails, to 4 local vets

Methylene Blue and Melafix doesn't do anything to the Columnaris species of bacteria. It need anti-biotics

If you post pictures and video of the swordtails rubbing it might offer more information.

I don't have anything to contribute regarding the infection/disease itself, but am I the only one that finds the zero nitrates test result surprising? The tank is only lightly planted, well stocked, and water changes are only 25%. Wouldn't there be at least some nitrates? I could see zero nitrates in a heavily planted/lightly stocked tank, but here it's very surprising. Am I missing something?

If they have 0 nitrates in their water supply, don't add too much food to the tank, don't have too many fish, have some live aquatic plants, and do regular water changes, they can have 0 nitrates.

Methylene blue should not be used in the main tank as it will wipe out your beneficial bacteria in the filter.

If the 2nd bottle of nitrAte reagent isn't shaken like mad before adding to the TT, the results won't be accurate...usually, they'll show zero trates, if not done correctly...possible cause?
