I dont know what to do

what treatment are you using and how long have you been treating for? raising the temp slightly will help as it will speed up the cycle of the parasite , increase aeration too .

pH: 7.5
ammonia: 0
nitrite: 0
nitrate: 20
kH: 10
gH: 16
tank temp: 24 Degrees

Fish Symptoms (include full description including lesion, color, location, fish behavior): White spots all over the body, no abnormal behavior
Volume and Frequency of water changes: No water changes since the weekend as im treating the water

Chemical Additives or Media in your tank: ???

Tank inhabitants: 3 Cardinal Tetra, 6 Black Neons and 3 Algae Shrimp

Recent additions to your tank (living or decoration): Recently added the 6 Black Neons and I bought some plants off the internet, cantremember what they were but they were for tropical fish tanks, I have put these plants in with other fish and they are fine

Exposure to chemicals: I dont know what this means, if you mean which treatment I'm using its called Interpet Anti White Spot

let the treatment run its course. if that fails waith 24 hours and start the treatment again,
ICH can be tenatious and a double course of one med maybe needed.

if it still hasnt been cured after two courses of the same med, post back here and we can advise you on a stronger medication

Quick update, one died yesterday

The others seem fine and I'm sure they dont have as many spots, they are eating fine

Sometimes I can see they are in some discomfort, they flick around quite fast

Im worried about my water changes cos I haven't been able to do them

Thanks

try upping your temperature 81f for three days while
keeping up the treatment

Ich is only affected by the medicine when it's in it's free-swimming stage of it's life cycle. While it's in the cysts on the fish it's pretty much immune to your treatment. Raising the temp of your water speeds up the ich's lifecycle, so you can get it to the free swimming stage. This could take 2-3 days. This is why you need to continue the treatment for up to 2 weeks sometimes, to get all the ich. It's a pain to get rid of, and makes the idea of a quarantine tank more attractive!

I'm slowly getting the temperature up to 30 degrees, I've done it over a few days so not to distress them anymore than they already are, I have 3 shrimp in the tank how will they be affected???

The temperature is up to 30 now, so i'll leave it till saturday/sunday and see if it has made any difference

I dont know if it is safe for the shrimp but its too late now, I've been doing this water treatment since last sunday anyway and they are still alive

Hiya's,

Used Interpet when i had my first ich outbreak a while back

My shrimps and snails are fine n dandy, the two active ingrediants didn't mention any form of copper

Tony

Thanks for all your help so far

The black neons seem to be doing really well, they have very few white dots left on them, the shrimp are fine, the cardinals really dont look so good, they are still really covered with the white dots and i dont know how to get rid of it, clearly raising the temperature isn't working for those

Thanks

Another question is they are due for another dose of treatment today, can I do a water change first?
