:-( MY fish stay in the corner on the bottom of the tank. They are all huddled together. When I turn the light off they start swimming around the tank. They come out of the corner when I feed them and go back to the corner. I turn the light off again and they swim around. It's the twilight zone in my tank.HELP!!!!!!!

Do you have enough aeration in the tank, add an airstone.

are the fish tropical? if so mayb the temperature is to low. Do u leave the light on for 10 -12 hrs, or just on at feedin times? Try givin them a day and a night with the lights.

Yes I have
2 sword tail
2 platys
3 sepaia tetra
5 neons
I raised the temp to 78 the ammonia, nitrate, and nitrite are all 0 . I had the light on 10 hours a day. but when I turn the light off and when I feed them they come out of their corner. The fish looked stressed in the corner.mostly the platys and the swords do. The neons seem fine.

Post water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph, how long has the tank been set up, and what was the ph of the store to your tank.

My Ph is 7.1 and ammonia is 0, nitrate is between 0 and .20 and nitrite is 0. The tank has been up for about 6 weeks. I have not added any new fish. I move the fish from a 20 to the now present 30. I have had these fish for quite awhile.

Probably stress then due to the move and the new enviroment, you did add them to the 30gal with the temp the same as the one they came out off.

Yes. I used almost all the same water and gravel. But it was odd that they seemed fine after the move. It was not until a few weeks later they started huddled in a corner. They seem alittle better today. I wonder if something could have gotten into to the water. I know my friend who fed them while I was on vacation didn't do any cleaning in the room. And I haven't. My reading today are PH 7.1 water is on the moderate soft end, Nitrate is between 0 and 20, nitrite is 0 and the kh is 25.

How long was you away, as it could be because they were on there own in the peace and quiet, then owners come back stressing them out lol, heard of this before.

I was away for a week and I got home last sunday. They were fine before I left and when I got home they were huddled together in a corner on the bottom of the tank.

If something had gotten into the tank, i would expect them to be gasping or heavy breathing, I would perform a water change, to be honest i'm at a loss as there are no symtoms, and water quality is good.

Maybe they are just scared. Everytime I come near the tank they go back in the corner.

Sorry wish i could help more, it does sound like stress, but i would watch out for parasites too, like they have been sprinkled in salt, or a brown to yellowish dusting on them.
