My First Tank - Photos

i like the broken slate effect and nice to see people cycling their tanks the old fashion way with prawns, i've always done it successfully this way

looks great so far :good: i got the exact same skull in my tank :D and a pirate ship, but the one piece not 2. You tested the air stone under the slate yet? should look really nice although i would hide the tube under the gravel and as tight in the corner as possible

Was thinking of getting an air stone, next time I pop down to the LFS I'll have a look what they've got in.

i thought that was an airstone :look:

ohhhh now i see

your gonna wanna move that moss ball then :good: they need the light and will rise/sink to get enough light. also heard if you want them to stay in a ball to roll them around every now and then but no idea if thats true or not, i would do it anyways though so the whole ball gets coverage.

Also you realise tiger barbs can be quite aggresive? ever though of petazona barbs? i got some in my tank and they all shoal together looks great and look similar to the tiger barbs but not aggresive

Moss balls: Yes, heard they they need light etc, I popped him in there for the photos as he kept rolling about everywhere.
Tiger Barbs: Yes, know they're aggressive.

Hi Mate,

Nice fish tank - when I've bought my house (in the next few weeks) I will be getting a fish tank.

I was going to get a trigon 190 but after seeing your tank I'm torn between the two.

When you've added fish please post some pics.

Know what you mean Lee. I was planning on getting the Rio 180 but then decided that the Vision with it's bowed front would look better as a piece of furniture rather than just a fish tank.

Don't worry, photos will be here (once the stupid cycling finishes)

i like the slate, but dont you think the edges are kinda sharp? i may be wrong but it looks sharp from here.

Nice tank mate...

I plan on my next tank being a Vision 180 like yours but in black. They really do look cool.

I particularly like the slate feature you have made...

Good luck once you get the fish in it!!!!

SexyKeeper! dont worry too much about "sharp" edges, in my experience its "over rated" as a cause for concern, especially if its slate, unless you using really sharp scizzors or butchers knives as decor in your tank, the risk is neglible, i mean you could argue the same for lava rock and ocean rock, in theory that could cause damage

I would be happy to bet money that there's more chance of a fish getting trapped behind an internal filter or trapped under a load of moss balls than there is harm coming to a fish from slate
