My First Tank Ever

Hi Vis. :)

Nice looking tank!!Defnitly move the Heater down to almost it touching the gravel. Also yes remove the plants out of the pots and plant them deep enouth.

Im also from SA, where is SA are you from?Im in Cape Town.

You are correct Java Moss you not gonna get in SA.Also the plants you get in SA are in very poor state. It takes time for them to grow like normal again.

Ejoy the fish tank! :fun:

Why have you got the heater so high up? If water evaporates without a top up that heater will soon be exposed to the air and may potentially explode. You want it positioned in the middle of the tank or next to the flow of the filter at a diagonal, or horizontal, so that the heat disipates the best.

I agree. Lower it a tad. Also if it isnt completely submerged it can roast your tank- eek!

i like the white rockwork............its different. few more plants & hide the heater a bit cos it does detract from the look of your tank & it will be brilliant. i would also prefer a plain dark blue or black background but thats only my personal taste, i just think the rocks would stand out more. we used to have a picture background on our 4ft tropical fw & i cant believe how much better it looks now with a plain navy blue background (& i did used to like the picture background but wouldnt go back to it now)

adult angel fish may eat your neons so not such a good idea. keep us updated id love to see updated pics sometime :D

Here are some updated pics, some new plants and planted them all in the gravel. Also hid the heater
