Hi All,

I thought the best way to introduce myself to the forum would be to show you all what im currently up to.

I brought myself a aquael ecoline 70 starter set and went with the whole plastic plant and tacky ornament approach.

I decided that this was not the look for me so picked up a second tank to keep my fish in while i made my main tank a lot prettier.

I added substrate, gravel, stones and one ornament to my new tank.

First picture of my tank but a little cloudy due to condesation and water.

I then decided to add a simple blue background.

Everythings decided it wants to be covered in airbubbles at the moment.

Heres a close up of my little hut (Temple lol) and stone steps leading up to it. (planning on changing these to slate)

Also not to sure about the white stones at the moment, will probably end up removing them.

Any plant recommendations would be appreciated.

Why not use the white stones to make a path from front to back or from the temple across 1/2 to 2/3 of the way across the tank?

Smart idea, i'd like to see that!

+1 for jetmans idea!

Are you going for real or fake plants?

Thanks Jetman. This was my original idea but i never did it. I wanted to have a higher hill and a white path running down it with slate steps. i may give it a go later tonight/tomorrow and add a picture.

I'm going for real plants as i cant stand the sight of plastic ones now.

Not yet as been busy with work, will be doing it sometime over the weekend. Will make sure i post pictures.

Here a picture of a few plants i got to add to my aquarium, still need to do abit of sorting out though.

I like cabomba but always found it to be a bit fragile.

So i spent a bit of time sorting out my tank today and replaced the stone steps with slate as i think it looks a lot better.

I also ordered some wisteria and got a piece of wood for inside the tank which im going to attach moss to.

The piece of wood also has a slanted back so itll form a cave when on the bottom of my tank.

Will update some more once ive got the wisteria, wood and moss inside the tank.

aaw very nice with the tank i love the effect white stones looks good :) i think changing the stones for slate was a good idea too :) would be great to see it filled out more looks like a good temple in the jungle kinda view going on :D top notch :)

Got the wood put in the tank and my fish switched over now.

Just need the plant to grow in a bit more but over all im happy with the final outcome.

Next project is going to be a bigger tank :p which i am currently saving for.

One thing I've learnt is that us folk will never be 100% happy with our tanks.

It is always nice to have a change though, it's just like moving furniture about in the home :)
