I've basing my water chemistry on a number of sources (all via the internet of course)
One of which is this
In fact I've read on numerous occasions that natural sea water has an alk of around 7dKH BUT it is recommended to run aquaria between 7-12dKH.
Another one of my influences is this thread and in particular the comments by skifletch and am using these as my 'aim for' points.
