So I picked up my first guppies today and selected 2 male's to 4 female's for the intention of hoping to see some babies in the future.

However after getting them home and settled in my tank I realised that they had given me 4 pregnant female's even thought they had been seperated!!

What should I do form here? What do I need? I don't have another breeding tank that I can use yet and haven't even got around to investing in a breeding trap/hatch as I was anticipating anything this soon. Should I just let nature take it's course and see how many are lucky enough to survive?

All you need to do is leave them to it.

If you want fry to survive (although some usually do; guppies aren't big fry eaters) then add plenty of live plants for hiding places.

That's alright then, panic over haha! I have a few plants, nice bit of mopani wood and a couple places they could seek refuge so will see what the outcome is.

Would I need to get a certain type of food for them? Or could they feed from the scraps of flakes?

For the food, I got my guppy fry the Hikary Tropical First Bites which is a really fine powder and you can find multiple brands of these but my fry don't really seem to like it as it's really tiny. I usually just crush my tropical flakes as finely as I can (which is a bit larger then the first bites) and they seem to love that which is good because the adults tend to ignore the finer crushed flakes

Thanks for the advice.

I have Rasboras, Danios, Corys and a Plec in my tank, are they likely to bother with the fry much?

Usually the general rule is, if fry can fit in their mouths they will eat them!

Rasboras and Danios WILL eat fry if they see them!

I'm going to attempt to make a breeding net for the fry. However if not and I leave them in the tank should I adjust the flow from my filter?

Be careful if you put the mom's in a breeder tank they could get stressed and die that happened to me so be carful!!!!!!

I don't have another tank but was considering making one of those breeding nets which she can give birth in and I then remove her

A breeder tank I a thing that floats in your tank not an nother tank:) is let's the baby's fall in a safe place other than you trying to catch them in the tank

Ahh ok I'll look it up.

Still no babies yet but the gravid spot is very dark and almost slightly red on one of them and has a very square belly! Not long left!
