Since entering the hobby two years ago I have never attended a fish club meeting. Yesterday I joined Aquarist Society of Central Maryland. The group is having a meeting on December 15. There will be chances to swap fish and purchase merchandise. Apparently vendors help underwrite the cost of the meeting. I have three species of cichlids currently: a. thomasi, a. cacatuoides and p.pulcher. I love the six thomasi and the pair of cacatuoides. The wild caught pulchers are always hiding and quite drab in color. If I can find out in advance what fish folks are bringing to the meeting to trade and I can score another pair of west African cichlids, I may make a trade.

I'm in MD as well. I joined a group that meets in Perry Hall I think. Just their FB page though. Haven't joined the actual club because meetings are more than an hour from my house and that is hard on a weeknight. I can't remember if it's the same club you mentioned or not.

EDIT: Found it. The Aquarium Club of Maryland in Havre De Grace

This event is free and open to the public. Attendees are welcome to bring items to sell and trade with others. A limited number of “UFG” tables will be available for attendees with fewer than 20 aquarium-related items that can be shared for tra…

If I win the lottery, I might rent a dirigible airship, paint it like a bloated neon then travel around picking people here up and bringing them to a big TFF get together, fish auction and swap meet somewhere in the middle of the Atlantic.

I hope you’re buying lottery tickets regularly. And I hope you know how to pilot a dirigible.
