Actually, I'm quite newbie for mouth brooder Bettas.
The first mouth brooder I've kept is Betta prima which seem to be a difficult
if keep them in standing water, but thrived well in running water tank.
My Betta prima
It was month ago, that I came across with the rare, wild caught, peat swamp dweller, Betta pi
that were collected from a peat swamp in southern most part of my country, Thailand.
They were offered at a Betta shop in our fish market called "Chatuchak" or known as "JJ Market" in Bangkok.
I got 5 of them - 2 males, 3 females
I've kept them with 6 Betta prima in 20" tank
with a medium hanging filter with peat media to low the pH to 5.5-6
I was surprised with their habit, quite docile and really peaceful!
A male even eats frozen bloodworm from my fingers!!
Yet they do prefer sinked small pellet food (I feed them with 'Hikari' - blacked pack for Goldfish)
