My First Ever Betta Tank :)

Looks like it's all going to take a bit longer than hoped... But at least the wait will be well worth it! Especially when I think of all those lovely bettas I saw today

Ammonia now down to 0!! Wooo

 Now the nitrite needs to follow I'm loving the fishless cycle with mature filter media, so much quicker than the weeks of waiting the first time round! (although I probably shouldn't tempt fate - it would be my luck that the nitrites just hang there for ages!! Hopefully it'll decrease soon)

Unfortunately it looks like still a while to go - I was hoping this weekend might be betta weekend! Ah well, the wait will be worth it.

It's been a long time since I first started cycling and finally in two weeks ago my tank started processing 1ppm ammonia in 24 hours.
 
So yesterday, hubby and I went shopping for a betta! I had my heart set on a half moon betta but instead I found this beautiful firey red fellow:

 

 
He seems quite happy, exploring around his new tank
