i have those type of plecs it looks like a common plec which will get very big like the tank yes agree need darker stones that way it show the colours of the fishe better

Its It is Pterygoplichthys joselimaianus.

Good lord that gravel is.....well lets say breath taking..............in a bad way

Your Apisto looks lovley, be sure to update when you get some real color gravel

like the fish dislike the substrate.

just remember if you go black make sure it doesnt change the ph as alot of black substrate raises ph and try to stick away from painted gravel. not good for fish in the long run as it will wear off.
that pleco will get to big for that size tank.

i need to show your comments to my wife in order to persuade her
about the gravel thing--- and a victory-- i went to my LFS as soon
as she agreed-- but in one condition-- we need to keep the gravel
for the other tank-- one i'll use for quarantine-etc. etc. so sorry for the 70's who called--

here's how it looks-- i was hoping to make it pure black-- but yet again
my wife doesn't like the idea-- cause it's for the kids to watch-- grrrr--- woman ehhh--
