Good day,
I am very new in marine aquariums and in aquariums in total. Never had one. Finally I was able to start my first tank.
I am posting below some of my pictures (I am new in photo too). It nothing much but I am really tying to make it a success.
Let me know guys what do you think. I really appreciate all the help I got at this forum.

Yes I just started.
But now I am afraid to go forward, guy who I bought coral from told me to add
iodide additive, guys here saying that its a dead end. I dont have any fish yet.
Anyway I am so confused that afaid to buy more corals. Dont know who is right who is wrong.
I am doing 10% bi-weekly water changes but i think maybe its not enough.
I have a skimmer and canister filter, does not they do the job?

Thanks

Its generally best to buy fish before corals, just to make sure you can keep the params under control. You shouldn't need to add any iodine, the LFS is just trying to sell you stuff.

Also, how much flow do you have, and what type of lighting?

I have 28 gal tank with 65W Actinic Blue, 65W Daylight.
I know it not enough light for many corals but for some its good. At least its what people were saying to me.
I also have to 2 x 1200 maxiJets, the water flow looks pretty big but I can be wrong I am just a beginner.
Yes I am going to buy some fish in a month, I just wanted to buy some live things to start. I am going on vacation in the
end of Nov, so I want to start with the fish after that.

I think that's the same light I have. :)

That's right.

the general rule of thumb for reef tanks is at least 20x the tanks' volume in turnover. So for a 28 gallon tank, you'd need about 560gph.

Sounds good, just take your time. :)

Do you know what the coral you have is called?

Loving the tank svirid, that coral is really interesting and looks fantastic.

As n3ont3tra said, just take your time - in fact the more time you take, the better the fiskeeper you'll be.

Have you got any plans for fish species?

Regards,
Paul

Yes I have already made a list and change it a couple of times too :)))
ANyway here is the last revision. Also can u help me with the order of fish I have to introduce.

in total 3-4 fish.

1 pair of clowns
1 flame angel
1 yellow tail blue damsel (maybe if its not too much)

What do u think?

This is looking really good so far! :good:
I'd love to start a marine tank but it seems like you need to know a lot so I'm putting it off!

Good luck with it all

Laura

skip the damsel.

couple or three engeneer gobies would be nice. They get big fast... my baby one is about 5' after a year, the larger grow slower I have an 8" as well which might have gotten larger over the year, but hard to tell. Anyhow they are totally docile, swim like eels, change patterns as they get older... they are in their own class of fish... and they are one of the cheepest fish!

28 gallon... just one :)

I think your coral is a sinualria brassica. It looks like it is closed in the picutre has it opened yet.
