My Even Newer Corys :)

:good: Congrats. They are very sweet. Not seen them before in LFS's. Bet you're pleased. Can't wait till they arrive and you can post some pics. :good:

hmmmmm these may not be Nijssen.

I have just been reading the september issue of PFK and on page 122 theres a pick of Nijssen on there. it states,

"Identification: There are a number of Corydoars species that have been misidentified as C.ornatus, all proving to be other species. C.ornatus is quite distinctive with its three solid horizontal strips"

anyone shed any light on this?

It also going on to say that they are £16 each from Pier Aquatics in Wigan LOL

Unfortunately, since there are so many cory species, they are sometimes incorrectly identified. I got my C. 102s this way.

Your best bet is to wait until they arrive and post a picture of the actual fish on the Planet Catfish forum. You will get a positive ID from someone who knows what specific things to look for in each species.

Whatever they turn out to be, they look like lovely fish and I'm sure you'll be happy to have them. :D
 
Sounds interesting. You sure are getting a lot of cories here lately. Makes me want to get my new ones too. I cant wait until Tuesday!

If they are the C. Nijsseni, then you got a great deal on them :good:
 
i am not really sure i follow the pfk remarks as ornatus looks nothing like nijsseni.

anyways, i have some of the nijesseni myself and the ones in the pic on the auction look to be true nijsseni.. a little stressed out, but still nijesseni. ;)

i can't wait for pics of them when they are in your tanks.. :)

i will scan a copy of the page in when i get home 2nite... if i can remember how to use the bloody scanner LOL.. its been a LONG time since i last used it heheh

yep, they are here, they are real tiny though. about 2cm... so its gonna be hard to take good shots... but i wlll try at some point over the weekend. On the up and up side... my sterbai have spawned for the 3rd time in 6 days heheh
