i've dried it as much as i can and swung it about a bit, will it be safe to plug it back on to the bulb or will it be okay?

Thoroughly let it dry out first i would. When water and eletics are involved i wouldnt risk it personally, let it dry. Hairdryer perhaps haha?

drop it in a bag of rice! the rice draws all of the water out, also WD40 works well on car electrics which suffer from damp problems so could try a quick spray of that put dont get it anywhere near the tank water :p

WD40 also conducts electricity so would avoid that (ok on cars small voltages),
just make sure it is dry before plugging back in (heat will be the best option),
hope this helps :good:

thanks guys i'm leavin it to dry, before you all think i've been electrocuted lol good tip with the rice, i was thinking of flour but thought it would be too messy and possibly not work

Cheers everyone

WD40 doen't conduct. The HT lead on a car don't pass a small voltage, Its a few thousand volts. Ive wet end caps loads of times, Just dried them with a cloth and plugged them straight in. There is about 600V when the tube starts up then when its on, they run at around 100V
