Thanks for looking

Nice dogs! I love small dogs, especially terriers. I'll bet Suki has some scottie in the mix, are the bottom two papillions?

Yeah we were never really sure what suki was
My little ones are Japanses chins (not sure if nico is fully tho)

Do Cairn terriers like to dig? shes dug a hole like 6 foot wide and about 4 foot deep at the middle in our garden once

I think Suki looks like a Cairn terrier cross
lovely dogs though

Could be some Cairn, though it looks a little longer in the muzzle with a bit heavier teeth than a Cairn. They both have common ancestors, pretty much flip a coin on that one. I'm trying to see any JRT characteristics in Suki, other than a bit of white on the chest.

It was battersea dogs home said shes 1/2 staff and 1/2 JRT. Lool
We never really questioned it shes just Suki, the cheeky little girl
I never really thought she was JR, shes got short legs lol thats it

Terriers like to dig. The name terrier derives from the Latin "terra" meaning earth. Terriers were originally bred to "go to earth" to hunt rabbits, rats etc. Your dogs are very nice, I especially like Suki. She looks a bit Scottie-like to me (used to have one). Her legs look quite long to me or is it the angle of the pic? She's lovely whatever she is. :)

I would say suki's mother was probably a scottie, or father. The long snout and pointed ears are definitely large signs of scottiness aswell as the black and long not-curled tail. Digging and soccer playing are aswell lol.

We were just joking about this fact earlier today, that this is the reason terriers have a bit of the devil in them, as they like to dig down to get closer to him.

They all like to dig, I used to have a Westie long ago that loved gardening & landscaping. White dog + black dirt = we're both in trouble. I had a Cairn that used to try to dig under the garage right by the service door. He ripped off the auminum wrap on the threshold and then the threshold itself after several years.

I'm trying to teach my little Aussie terrier to dig only in the pea gravel in the dog run. If you give them an area that is ok for them to dig in they tend to stick to this area, and not go tearing through the flower beds. I thought digging under the garage was fine for the Cairn, until I started noticing parts of the garage missing. I would rather deal with this than digging under the fence and having to go searching for a dog. Terriers are known for this, you really have to secure the bottom of fences.
