so i needed a tank divider in order to keep my guppy fry safe from my abnormally agressive honey gourami. im a college student (no money) and live in the middle of western kentucky (no lfs) so i went to walmart, and bought plastic knitting material thats basically just like a thick screen. cut it to my ten gallon's dimensions, and voila! tank divider!

now my fry can stay nice and warm, and safe, while im in florida on spring break!

I've just made one for te betta tank as i want to put the female with my male so i can condition them, used the same stuff as you and siliconed it to some runners so i can take it out.

what do you mean buy knitting material? im keeping my eyes open at the mo for something to do the same with

its like clear(ish) with a lot of square holes cut into it..i guess it's supposed to teach you to knit im not sure..its really flexible and probably you could find it in any craft type store.

I believe we here in the UK may call it Aida, and its for cross stitching. you can buy it in plastic from hobbycraft. I only know as my wife does a lot of cross stitching and buys the plastic aida for the kids to re use, this is what it sounds like to me from the description given.

aslong as its not PVC then its fine poly vinyl chloride actually releases chlorine which you may of noticed from that new shower curtain smell etc. Its not good for the little fishies anyway or us but we lose so many brain cells just from E numbers a few more doesn't hurt.
