Well I finally completed my DIY stand for housing my 125. The stand cost more than your typical store bought stand but I think it looks 10 times better. I didnt want the look of having just stuck the tank over against a wall like you would with your typical stand so I went the route of building a stand that looks like it was built into the house instead of just set there.

Here is the before picture. I moved this tank to the other side of my living room and emptied the 10 gallon. I moved the heat vent also.

Here is the finished stand. The heat vent is now in the floor between the end of the couch and the stand. The lighting makes the base of the stand look lighter than the top but its not. Now all I have to do is bribe a friend to help me move the tank. Then I have to set up the tank.

oh wait i'm an idiot i didn't read the stuff in between the two pictures sorry..

you should post a pic when you get the tank installed and set up i'd like to see the finished product

That's awesome! If I send you a plane ticket would you build me one? How are you on log cabins? I'll need the cabin first.
Really, nice work.

considering that I am no carpenter it was very easy to build. It cost me alot more than just buying a stand though, but I didnt want it to look like the tank was just placed over by the wall...

I am still trying to find someone to help me move the tank to its new stand.

I finally got the tank moved over to its new home...

now I just have to buy my substrate, rocks for decor, heaters, filters and finally my Fronts...

WOW that is really cool. ***buggyboutbettas is going into total jealousy mode...
I wish I had something like that! but first I need a room to put it

i just ran out of room...

in my living room I have the following:
20 gallon and a 29 gallon on a wood 2-tier DIY stand.
a 72 gallon bowfront
and my newest addition the 125 gallon.

I have a 10gallon setup in my bedroom as a QT for as fire-fin right now.
and in the basement I have an empty 20 and an empty 29.
