My poor Crayola died this morning. I have absolutely no idea what happened. A couple days ago he was on the bottom of his tank "breathing" kind of heavily. He came up to eat that night, but then went right back down to the bottom. Then yesterday he was still on the bottom, but this time didn't come up to eat. I added some antibiotics, but this morning he was dead. Whatever it was, it was a freak thing. I only got him in January, so I don't think he was that old. Any ideas? :/

I feel really bad. Whenever I'd be in my room, this little guy would swim back and forth at the front of the tank the -whole- time, sometimes for hours at a time (while I was doing homework, reading, etc.). He hated mirrors because they scared the crap out of him, he'd swim away to the other side of the tank and hide in his plant. RIP my little man. You were as sweet as they come. :( :( :(

I also have a question... in his tank, I have a really really nice looking anubias barteri plant. Is there any way to disinfect a live plant? I'd love to use it in another fish tank, but don't want it to carry whatever it was that killed Cray. :/

Awww so sorry for your loss. Sadly these things do sometimes happen. I lost Feegle a few weeks ago because of the water change (company must have flushed their systems again :grr: ) which made him sick despite all my efforts to help him. I doubt it's been anything you've done and probably something you'll never be able to explain. :rip: :byebye: RIP lil fella.
