Does anyone know if I can get a custom size one made somewhere?

I would think you could go to a glass shop and they could cut some float glass to the correct size for you.

Edit: Don't forget to get the edges ground down though for safety.

Most "one man band" hardware shops will cut glass for you.... its really a lot easier than it looks - why not have a go yourself !

I am assuming I would have to fork out for a glass cutting tool though and have no idea how to sand or round corners, I think I will ask my local glaziers lol

Glass cutters are a quid !!!! and you just smooth it with wet-n-dry paper.... but ask at the local hardware store, I bet they will do it (greenhouse glass is carried by most)
Good hunting

A quid omg really? what about the glass where do u buy it from?

I'd do it for you...but the distance is too great to deliver. (Glasscutter by trade)
Always deduct a 3 or 4mm from the actual tight size. Have the edges polished or sanded.
You should ask around first to see if someone you know, knows a glaizer or a double glazing factory worker. (could work out to your advantage)
Lastly while your at it you may as well ask them could they checkout the corners for wires and pipework to get to and from the tank itself.
Get some plastic "E" channelling from your local DIY store before you measure and cut two lengths to 3" short of your total aquarium length. (for the coverglass to slide over and under eachother)
