My Convict Pair Now Fighting!

i have recintley bought a pair of convict, they were the only ones paired off in the tank, i think they even had eggs and now in their new tank so far so good, until now. the male is constintley chasying my female when she gets close he chases her away. does anyone know wat went wrong?

Are they eggs in there? If so, he is possibly chasing her away to look after the eggs himself. If they dont have eggs now, he may well be chasing her to see if shes worthy of being his partner.

there is not any eggs now, but he is moving the rocks in an area i think he isn trying to prepare a nest. but when she comes he chases her.

Once hes ready he will probably allow her to lay, is my best guess, I have never had convicts so am not up on them, but it sounds like normal courting relationship to me.
