That is just the plant!!! I have always wondered what it is called. Thanks for your help

Cheers

Move the big plants on the left, to the right and try to hide the filter. Change to a sandy subtrate, and get a peice of bogwood, or a really exotic plant, and put it just off centre, but make sure it sticks up in the tank. Your current peice of bogwood is just on the bottom, but if you can get it to go to about half way up the tank, it will look great. All tanks should have a centrepeice I think, unless your going for a symetrical look, but don't make it to centred as this will cause distraction from the rest of the tank. That's IMHO

I'm giving some real thought to the sand option, Looking for a tall growing redish plant for the filter end (or may just cut back the one on the left and start another bunch off). Will be changing the white stones when I find others that I think are right.

The centre is the bit that is bugging me & yes I think bogwood is the answer but it's finding the piece that looks right. Lfs hasn't got the right piece so will have to go further afield.

The current piece of bogwood HAS to stay, too many fish love the space underneath it & I'll not get moved for dummies (they'll spit them out) if I remove it.

how about an external filter i find them easier to hide and larger filtering area for the bacteria....just a thought. For me more is better and most of them you can turn down a little bit if its to powerfull for the tank.I also disagree about slow turnover filters for planted tanks.I personally have no problems with my set-ups.

There is plenty of bio.... media in the Juwel filter as I have removed the carbon & zeolite & replaced with bio... media. The second filter is just to keep it cycled till needed and will be removed shortly.

If I go for a larger display tank then I will get an external filter.

I also have an exteral ( Whisper 60 ) Hang on back of tank filter....It works great.

Your java fern is awesome! How long did it take for it to attach good to the wood? What about to grow that big?

It was purchased tied to the bogwood with fishing line (approx. £6) and is now 33% bigger in one month.

Not bad for standard Juwel tube & no floral boost etc.

Am I lucky or what :good:
