My Common Plec

just went to look at my tank and found my common plec upside down dead, had grown rather attached to it. Wondered why or how it had died, apart from the other fish having nibbled him once hed died he had no other marks on his body or fins, it seems really odd. The nitrate and ammonia levels are very low and so are the nitrite so it isnt that, was a big enough tank and he was fed regular so dont think its stress. Just really confusing and upsetting that hes gone.

You aren't supposed to have any ammonia. even if it is very low it is deadly. Did you feed him algae wafers. It has protien not found in algae essential to there survival. Nitrite levels should also be at zero.

yes i was feeding him algae wafers, with regular water changes and water checks.
