My Cichlid

I have had this Cichlid since it was a baby, and now an adult. Lately it is nose down in the tank. He swims normal to eat then back to nose down in the tank. The temp is fine I have changed the water, took out the carbon filter, added API General cure and still not getting better, any advice? Please see attached picture. TIA

Not sure on the age. I know we raised him as a baby. Several years for sure. The weried thing it swims normal to eat etc. Then back nose first in the gravel.

So how do I cure the problem? And hes been raised in a 30 gallon tank.

That's a Jack Dempsey. They need 75 gallons of space. I'm not 100% sure what the issue is yet, could you upload a video to youtube and then share the link?

My guess is swim bladder disease too - early stage. If it is there isn't really a cure. Hopefully I'm wrong, I had one Gourami hang on semi-normally before he got so bad he couldn't eat or get to the top of the tank for air - then I euthanized him.

I read up and someone brought up about using Epsom salts?

It can help, but it's not a guaranteed cure.

I dont understand how he got this, especially when I have had him since a baby and fed him the same food always...

It can be all sorts of things, hard to say really.

Any chance of a video of the fish?
If the video is too big for this website, post it on YouTube and copy & paste the link here. We can view it at YouTube. If you are using a mobile phone to take the video, have the phone horizontal so the video takes up the entire screen. If you have the phone vertical, you get video in the middle and black on either side.
