Got a new tank for christmas been doing the fishless cycle for a week so far box says it is 39.39 Galls So I will say more like 35 Gall (uk).

just wanting some ideas of common trops for it My mom wants a plec in it but I know that most will be to big for it.

It has dorset pea gravel for substrate was going to go sand but felt to fine.

My 10 gall has a couple of corries and a couple of guppies. Wouldn't mind some more corries.

of yeah the p.h. is in the 7.0 bracket.

Another thing links to info on the fish you suddgest will be helpful to research

A bristlenose plec (ancistrus) would be fine in that tank. Or a better sized school of corys (get the same as you have and transfer the ones you've got).

Lots of options for middle/upper levels. A nice school of something? Most common tetras would work: black widows, rummynoses, black phantoms, red phantoms, neons, cardinals, glowlights, black neons etc. They prefer acid water but they should be ok. Or danios: zebras, leopards and pearls are all readily available. Or rasboras: the most common are harlequins.

Or some larger fish? Trio of dwarf gouramis or honey gouramis would be fine. You could even fit in pearl gouramis.

Hiya :) lets get straight into it

Pleco? yeah most "pleco's" or varient's will easily get to big, but you could consider something like 2-3 bristlenoses or similar (size wise) in a tank that size. Some driftwood is essential.

Cories? as long as there are no sharp edges on the gravel your cool (same goes for the bristlenose). In a tank that size I'd say 6ish would be a good number, but that also depends on what breed and adult size, eg with panda cories you could squeeze another couple easily as there adult size is much smaller than most other cories

Oh BTW this does depend not just on tank size but also on footprint (dimensions).

Hope that helps some

Andrew

Most all tetras will be fine as will the rasboras. I want some harlequins but haven't got any yet. The corys will be fine as long as the gravel is rounded (which is what I think of ea gravel as) and not sharp-edged.

Also, have the KH of your water checked too. That will tell you how much buffering capacity your water has and whether it is likely to stay near the 7.0 as it comes from the tap or whether it will drop wonce it gets in the tank (from things like CO2 or bogwood).

yeah p.h. drops from 7.0 to closer to 6.4 with bogwood so soft water. That is from testing the water the bogwood is soaking in it's the fluval duo deep 1000 Think the dimensions are 100x40x45 (in cm)

Corys and otos should both be fine in your water as would most all peaceful community fish. You could have a nice sized school of some type tetras or rasboras.

so the otos and cories would be cool so what about this

4 bronze cories (will add 2 from the 10 gall)
4 otos
6 neon tetra
6 harly rasbs

is that about the right amount or can I add some more base is 100 by 40 and hight is 45 (all sizes in cm).
