aww, i love how he is all tucked in!!! That is so cute.

I don't know a lot at all about cats, but I hope he gets better. He is such a sweetie

. Any idea what caused the wound?

6 of my neighbors have large dogs/outside cats and there are a few wild cats too that might have done it.
Ceder is kinda small so it might be a squirl or somthing like that.

Ill post a pic of him

How sad for him. Could he become a house cat do youthink? Give him a treat from his 'aunty Pam and her moggies'

HE is still growing so we are going to let him stay out side when he is bigger and all healed.Until then we are puting him in the back yard when the cut closes.
He realy loves the outdoors and we dont want to take that away from him.
.

Well darn except for the fur length he looks like my garf. He does look content though. Sweet face.

Well ceder is up and about more today. He also had a lot attenshon today because i had some friends over (he looked a lot better after the visit) One of the friends is a cat person and brought him some catnip.

We still have no idea what bit him(i think he was bit because part of his tail was riped of and the cut is the right shape). The cut has also scabed over mostly and he did not bleed much today.

And on a sad note what are the symtoms of rabies?

at first i thought you weere talking about a catfish, i was gonna say salt and melafix. btu that won't help a real cat i don't think...

i didn't read all of the posts, but if it's a lquid thing, maby try putting it in his water or something?

but sometimes you have to get some gloves, get some wet food with the meds in it, and open his mouth and make him eat it. don't shove it in, but you gotta put it in his mouth so he gets atleast some of it in. the more the better. good luck with him. and make sure if you do make him eat it, where gloves, he could get angry, he may be a little touchy from whatever happened to him.

The incubation period is usually 1-3 months Signs may include
changes in behavior, general sickness, problems swallowing, increase in drool or saliva, wild animals may appear abnormally tame or sick, if excited may bite at everything, difficulty in moving or paralysis, death.
Sometimes animals do not show any early symptoms. Here is a site for you

www.dhpe.org/infect/rabies.html

Did your vet give the cat a shot. Most vets if the animal is kept will give them a rabies shot if they haven't had one to protect the other animals.
Good luck with Cedar

Thanks for the link and yes he has had his shots

Glad to here it. Just keep an eye on his wound so it doesn't get infected. Give him a scratch for me.

Ceder is almost fully recoverd and is very active.

We were thinking of getting him a friend maybe a russian or british blue when Ceder is completly healed.
