Finally my Bronze have started to spawn today.

I have about 90 eggs upto now but the female is really fat so i'm hoping for a lot more :hyper:

Shes even laying them on a container that I have some apple snail eggs in(discovered yeasterday).

I just hope they are fertile.

Good for you, StrontiumDog  I hope you get a nice, big batch. :D

Thank You All,

I've got about 150 eggs, But must of burst about 40 while collecting them  .
I forgot just how sticky they are when just layed. They should hatch in the next three days, and hopefully not
many turn white.

I must say it was great to watch them, this is the first time i've witnessed them spawning. She was holding up to 25 eggs at a
time in her fins. Never seen my peppers at it just kept comming home from work and finding eggs on the glass.

OMG they are starting to hatch all ready, and they are so small

They are smaller than my peppers where when they hatched, I can't belive the difference in size

Sadly im going to loose about 40 more due to fungi, so that still leaves me with about 100 :hyper:

Hi StrontiumDog :)

It's good to hear so many are hatching. There's always a risk of fungus, especially when they have been moved. If all goes well you'll still have quite a few grow up for you. They may be tiny now, but even in a week they will have grown noticeably bigger.

Lots of luck with them!

Well today my 2nd female thought it was her turn to lay some eggs :good:
I've collected about 140 and only burst 10 :hyper:

Sadley out of the first batch i've only ended up with 40 fry, but thats better than none. I hope these grow as well as my peppers are doing.

I have just trimmed most of my plants in my jungle tank (129lt) for some of my Peppers to go in with mummy and daddy.
Not to sure how many are going in yet because of the sizes as they are all different due to them being born days and weeks apart.

Hi StrontiumDog :)

That is good news!

40 fry is not bad; you will always lose some. That's why they spawn so many eggs. Before you know it your first female will be spawning again too.

I hope this batch does well for you. :D

Thanks Inchworm,

Bad news is only 1 has survived from the first batch, don't know why for sure. With the second batch I removed all my Young Peppers out of the tank and put them in a divided tank with the adult bronze. Out of the 140 eggs about 10/15 got fungus, when hatched they where let loose in the 25ltr tank and seem to be doing fine. Of course I can be to sure of how many are in there but they are growing quite well. So fingers crossed more of these will survive than the 1st batch
