hey guys. i was doing my water changes yesterday and had my room window open. when the sun is out it hits the side of the tank. i had my rear tank light on. i saw my blue angel up front and i had to take a picture. the only things done to this picture were cropping, sharpening, and contrast adjustment (to try to reduce the glare). no color enhancement! this is 100% the color of the fish...when hit by sunlight :)

for anyone interested, the fish is a Blue Smokey Pearlscale. genetics for that are Sm/+ - pb/pb - p/p. the fish was obtained from AngelfishUSA in August of 2009, and it's a F1 descendant from Ken Kennedy's fish.

what do you think?

Beautiful fish!! I have one that looks very similar, he is a blue, not a pearlscale though. He always looks blue but more so in natural sunlight :)

I have no idea where mine came from, a customer brought him to the shop and so i snatched him up!! To go with my platinum and pure black.

Wow. Looka awesome! Maybe someone can breed angels that have colors. Like this powder blue for example, or an all orange one... Just a thought.

pretty I have never seen one like that before. Is this a new color? I don't know much about the differant Angle color morphs.

Yup :) Blue angels are a fairly recent new colour strain. They first started appearing shops late last year. My LFS had the very first shipment of them :)
