I noticed he was struggling yesterday afternoon and didn't expect him to make it through the night. I just got back from class a few minutes ago and he is still alive, but he is struggling to breathe. He's sinking to the bottom, and darting back to the top. He keeps slowly turning on his side. He was the first betta I bought, and I got him almost two years ago (it'll be two years this coming February). I'm heartbroken and just need some support.

:-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-(

It sounds like either ammonia, or nitrite/nitrate poisoning. Have you checked your parameters with a kit? How big of a tank is it, and how often do you change the water?

I don't think it was any kind of poisoning. I have no idea how old he was when I got him, but I have had him for about 20 months. I think he was just old. :(

Unfortunately, my Faith died around 1 o'clock this afternoon. I still love her to death. :byebye: :byebye: :byebye:
