Hello,
Well, have started keeping betta yesterday. what I noticed is that he's very friendly (or I'm wrong, agressive) towards me, he always come to greet me whenever I approach or see me walking by. But I noticed that when I'm not in my room, he's very unactive sometimes lie down in the bottom or near the water surface. Is that normal?
Thanks.

yes its normal, bettas are pretty slugish when they are bored, if u'v got room in his bowl you could add some decorations for him to play around, or if u dont mind, maybe you could buy him a play mate to flare at :D

Some of mine are so completely lazy that I get dirty looks if I dont' drop their food pellets into the tank right on top of their heads so they don't have to get off the plant they're laying on to eat.

If you give him a nice soft plant (silk or real, either way) to lay on he'll love it.

I got some cabomba in and yup, he sometimes rests over it. But mostly I find himself at the bottom...
Ahh... are the greetings a friendly act or it's agression or discovering?
thanks...

Batista "sleeps" on his side on the bottom of the tank. The first time I saw him I freaked. He also has to have a few minutes in the morning to wake up before I feed him. He won't move for the first two or three minutes after I turn his light on. :)

sometimes i rotate freckles between a 1G and a 2.5G and when he gets put in the 2.5G he has no light SOOO he gets mad and splashes water -_- then i give him a light and he knocks over his plant! so i feed him, he doesnt eat! Then when he goes back in the 1G he is fine... eating, flaring, ect... -_- weird eh?

I have a couple of plants in Jasper's tank, and he chooses to sleep on the rocks.
What a goon!
Anyway - it's perfectly normal. Six also chooses to sleep on the rocks sometimes over the cabomba or 2 other silk plants I have in there.

It's hard to tell about the greetings. When I look in at Six (my crowntail) he comes over with every body part he can puff... puffed up. He flares and wiggles at me like He's really mad that I'm invading his desk space.

Others come flying over with all their fins tucked in so they can get to me faster. I guess they just love to see me looking in at them. :)
