I recently got a betta for my community tank and I took a risk in putting him in with my guppies, but they have been in there for a few days now and not once have i seen him attack my guppies! I am so pleased! :kana:

That's great!

Just make sure to keep watching him, in case he has an attitude change.

My Betta (name of Lolly), hounded two of my dwarf gouramis and they both died, but someone advised me to stick a mirror on the side of the tank, which I did, and he spent all day flaring at himself, and my other two gouramis seem to have lost his interest - the mirror has been off the tank now for about a month, and touch wood, no hounding of fish anymore. Good ole Lolly

that sounds a fab idea with the mirror if trouble starts :) he seems so carefree, he did have a strop with one of my apple snails, flared up at him and then pecked his shell, i think he thought it was anouther betta through all the plants lol but nothing since then.

I have no trouble at all with my Jericho in a community tank, with danios, female guppies and gouramis, (as well as snails, adfs and ghost shrimp). The only time he pays any attention to anyone else is when they fight. Then he swims between them. I also have a small mirror that hangs on the side of the tank. It has been there for several months. He will swim by and flare as he goes by and then goes on about his business.

If you have him in the tank with the neon tetras, just keep an eye on them. They can be pretty bad fin nippers. Jericho was pretty torn up when I got him from being in with neon tetras.
