recently discovered my fish has like a white build up round its mouth meaning its not eating as it should, hes slowed down become withdrawn and is just generally not healthy, what could this be? i gave him a white spot treatment just in case any help would be good thanks.

Probably fungal but fould be start of bacterial infection. Do a big waterchange and then partial waterchanges for the rest of the week. Salt dips in aquarium salt may help- mix 1 teaspoon per gal and leave him in the bath up to 30 mins once a day.
