I love my fishies dearly but sometimes their purported intelligence is up for question. Take this morning for instance. Tropico is always a healthy eater. This morning he ignored the fresh pea piece I dropped in. 
That's SO unlike him I did a double take.
Then I saw a very small snail was upside down, floating on the surface of his tank water, vacuuming the surface meniscus for food. Tropico was circling it round and round and round, gills flared out like there was no tomorrow.
He's too young to give much finnage yet but I thought he'd pop his head inside out he was flaring his gills up so much! He made me dizzy just watching him. I poked the snail and instantly it dropped to the bottom of the tank. He was like "hey where did that threatening intruder go?" Then he remembered it was morning and he hadn't been fed yet and he turns to me like "Yes! Yes! I'm here! Where's the food?" 
Oh WHERE is a good camera when you need one???
