My betta from Bangkok

Well the black devil crowntail I ordered from Bangkok made it to CA, but then died there, before they could ship to me. I think I should just get a refund and cut my losses. $15 a fish, refundable, $34 UPS, refundable because it was never shipped, then $7 from bangkok, not refundable. What if it had shipped to me and ended up DOA, $41 down the drain.. and if I try again I'm still out the first $7, thats potentially $50 I can lose here on a $15 fish. He says DOA are less than 5%.... what do you guys think I should do?

that sucks, it's always a risk when getting fish through the mail. most people say that if a fish is doa to take a picture of it in the bag and send to them, they will get you another fish but usually you pay shipping again. you lose money either way. sorry to hear that stare. i was just considering going that route myself with atison in bkk. now, i'm not too sure.

Yeah, I can get another fish... but I don't get a refund on the $7 shipping from bangkok (and, if it shipped from CA to me, I would've lost $34, too).

So I can get another fish for free, but then I have to pay the $7 AGAIN, then the $34.. and if it makes it all the way to my house and is DOA, that's..

And I'll only get $15 back. Plus, that's IF he has a black devil like the first one.. I saw his others that were up, and I only liked the one. The others are probably sold, too, anyways.

That sucks, get your money back and go to another seller.

I agree with wuv,gather your cash back up and stay away from that breeder. May or may have not been his fault,but I wouldn't go back twice.

That sucks. Personally I have good lfs in my area so I would never order thru the mail. I think its too big a risk. I would get the money back and try to find someone nearby that breeds them or talk to your lfs and see if they can get some.

Well, I checked out his feedback and he has all positives. He said DOA is less than 5%, but he understood my request for my cash back and did it promptly, so I left him positive feedback anyways.

Ironic of all things though, I've never in my life seen a crowntail, hence ordering one online.. The night before I found out my fish was DOA, I found TWO crowntails in PETSMART. I bought them both, of course. They are the cutest little twins... I'll have pics soon.
